Brazil will get their Copa America tournament underway with a clash against Costa Rica on Monday, June 24th.

A highly entertaining clash is likely on the cards when Brazil and Costa Rica get their respective Copa America campaigns off on Monday. Brazil are heavily viewed as one of the major favorites to lift the coveted prize, alongside reigning champions Argentina, who kicked off their title defense with a solid 2-0 win over Canada.

The Selecao will be determined to prove that their inconsistent form since the start of 2024 is just a minor blip. Brazil come into this game having being held to a surprise 1-1 draw against the United States, who are hosting the Copa America for the second time. Prior to that, they had to dig deep to secure a hard-fought 3-2 win over Mexico, with the game winner coming in extra time from rising star Endrick. The 17-year-old youngster also was the difference maker for Brazil to pick up a 1-0 win over England at Wembley back in March, and also found the back of the net during his team's three-all draw against Spain.

Endrick, who is set to join both Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid, will be one player many will have their eyes on in this competition. Meanwhile, Costa Rica have had a more solid 2024, with just one loss in their last six games across all competitions. Los Ticos picked up back to back victories heading into this tournament as they cruised to wins over St. Kitts and Grenada (4-0 and 3-0 respectively), but obviously will be facing a much sterner opponent as they take on a Brazil team at a Copa America competition for the third time.

To date, although Costa Rica do have a solid record against CONMEBOL opponents in the Copa America - with just one loss in their last four ties - Los Ticos have struggled historically against Brazil and have both of their prior two meetings with the South American powerhouse in this contest. In addition, Brazil have won ten of their 11 matches against Costa Rica, with their sole defeat taking place back in 1960.
