Manchester City made history on Sunday as their 3-1 win over West Ham on the final day of the 2023-24 English top-flight season saw them become the first team ever to win four consecutive Premier League titles.
That victory took Guardiola's men to 91 points, two more than Arsenal who finished second yet again despite beating Everton 2-1 in their final game of the campaign.
And if missing out on the English top-flight title for a second year running was not painful enough, Manchester City star Rodri made sure to add insult to injury by aiming a brutal dig at Mikel Arteta's men during his post-match interview.
The Spaniard was speaking to Optus Sports, the league's exclusive broadcasting rights holders in Australia, and was asked how his team continues to win major trophies despite all of their success.
In response, the 27-year-old contrasted his side with their rivals from North London, arguing that Arsenal lacked the mentality to be brave and pursue the three points every game while Manchester City showed this characteristic in abundance.
The midfielder pointed to their encounter at the Etihad Stadium in late March that ended in a nil-nil draw as proof, stating that their rivals played for the draw and lacked the courage to go for the victory.

Rodri knew Manchester City's title was never in doubt when Arsenal went to the Etihad.

However, this statement has not gone down well with Arsenal fans, with many pointing out that the Gunners took more points off of Manchester City (4) this season than any other side in the league.
Additionally, the North London giants were one of only five teams to even pick up a point at the Etihad Stadium, joining Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace.
Regardless, Rodri and Co. ended the season with another Premier League title while Saka and Co. go home empty-handed. The Cityzens can now switch focus to the FA Cup final amid their pursuit of the double, with Pep's side facing rivals Manchester United in the final on May 25.
