The French star came off the bench to give Diego Simeone's team a well deserved win after 90 minutes where there were almost no emotions for those watching.

One of the craziest UEFA Champions League matches of all time has seen Atlético come off with the win, and it was only possible thanks to Antoine Griezmann, who stepped up to give Los Colchoneros a key win in their first match of the competition.

The French ace, who has been used as a substitute for most of the season due to a clause in his contract, came in from the bench to grant Simeone's men one of their biggest wins in UCL history. Mario Hermoso had given them the lead during the first minutes of stoppage time, but Porto's Matheus Uribe scored a penalty to level the game. When things seemed destined to end in a draw, Griezmann was found all alone inside the 6-yard box to score the game-winning goal with only seconds to spare.

Griezmann scored his 29th goal in the competition and 25th with Los Colchoneros, which make him the top scorer for Simeone's men in the tournament. The footballer also nabbed a record for the latest goal ever scored by an Atlético player in the competition, which added to the three points of the evening, mark one fine day at the office for the Frenchman.
