The USWNT will hope to get back to winning ways when they face Colombia in the quarter-finals of the 2024 CONCACAF W Nations Cup.

Fresh off a shocking 2-0 loss to Mexico that still has people buzzing, the USWNT will need to pick themselves up and try to get back to winning ways as they take on Colombia in the quarter-finals of the 2024 CONCACF W Gold Cup. Before the loss, the USWNT were the proud holders of several records. They were unbeaten 41 of their last 42 meetings against Mexico (W40 D1 L1) and had won all of their last 16 clashes versus La Tri. In addition, California truly was a Golden State for Team USA, where were unbeaten in their last 55 games (W51 D4) prior to seeing that run end on February 26.

Twila Kilgore's unbeaten start since taking over as interim manager has now come to an end and now she will naturally be aiming for redemption as they prepare to face Colombia. Team USA's upcoming opponents have been in solid form since the 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup got underway last month. Las Cafeteras opened their tournament with a resounding 6-0 thrashing over Panama, and although they were beaten 1-0 by Brazil, rebounded well with a 2-0 victory over Puerto Rico to book their spot in the quarter-finals.

Colombia also were very impressive at last summer's World Cup, where they made it to the quarter-finals for the first time in team history. The team are comprised of a mix of youth and experience, with Real Madrid's youngster Linda Caicedo receiving plenty of deserved plaudits over the past few seasons, while the veteran striker Catalina Usme, who plays her club football for Mexican side Pachuca, has two goals to her name so far and has formed a solid understanding with her colleague who is nearly two decades her junior.

Although Colombia have never beaten the USA - with two draws and ten losses from their last 12 meetings - it's safe to say that the South American side certainly will be fancying their chances here.
