The Welshman will known his sanction before the games that will take place this weekend.

La Liga's disciplinary board may have a nasty surprise in store for Real Madrid, since Gareth Bale could be slapped with a lengthy ban for his controversial celebration against Atlético.

The Welsh ace scored the last goal for Los Blancos against their bitter rivals, but as fans screamed insults against him, Bale replied with a gesture known as a "corte de manga". This is one of the most abusive insults any many in Spain can endure, and La Liga's board is investigating this issue as of now.

The incident was described as follows.

"Gareth Bale, Real Madrid's Number 11, started celebrating his team's third goal. During that celebration, boos and jeers coming from fans can be heard. The player proceeded to take his right arm to the proximity of his head, in what can be interpreted as a clear sign of a taunt. Moments later, the player executes a possibly obscene gesture, raising his previously bended arm and hitting it in the mid-section with the other hand," La Liga stated.

There are two possible scenarios. If Bale's actions caused massive outcry from Atlético supporters, then he could be on the sidelines from four to twelve games. If his actions did not cause further rage from Atlético's fans, then his punishment would go from one to three games. Either way, Bale's gesture could be a massive blow for Real Madrid as the season gets tougher for Solari's men.
