While Arsenal has reportedly made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Denis Suarez, a lot of uncertainty surrounded their Ivan Perisic chase. However, Inter Milan has shed some light on the situation.
It's no secret that the Gunners are interested in the Croatian. David Ornstein of BBC Sport, a reliable source on everything Arsenal, tweeted that the north London outfit is on the lookout for a winger and Perisic is one of their targets.
Arsenal is after a winger and has identified Perisic as a target
As widely reported, Arsenal close to completing deal for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez. Not signed yet but 25yo to join on loan + option to buy (reports he'll also extend #FCB contract to protect value). Won't be at #CCFC game. #AFC continue winger hunt, no plans for defender

However, the Nerazzurri have stated that there has been no suitable offer for the player. This likely means that Emery's side has made an unconvincing bid amid claims they are seeking a loan move.
The Serie A side also revealed that the player has requested a move abroad after reportedly handing in a transfer request. This means that there is a high chance of prying the 29-year-old away from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
"Perisic wants to go abroad, but there are no suitable offers," Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio said, as per the Daily Mail.
"If he does remain, I expect the same professionalism from him as always. We intend to get him back on track and it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think it'll take very long."
It remains to be seen whether the Premier League outfit will increase their offer for the Croatian, but the odds of that occuring aren't high. Emery has spoken publicly about the club's financial restraints this month which have limited them to loan deals only.
Denis Suarez is tipped to arrive at the Emirates Stadium on loan, as their manager insisted. However, a natural winger is needed and unless Arsenal reaches into their wallet, they will likely miss out on Perisic.
