Sala's relatives believe they can still find the footballer alive, or at least some sort of signal on his whereabouts.

Even if local authorities have called off the search to find striker Emiliano Sala, the pilot of the aircraft he was traveling in or the plane itself, the player's relatives are not ready to take "no" for an answer.

According to a report by Infobae, the player's family will fund a private search to find the footballer. Their decision comes after local authorities had decided to call off the search to find remains of the aircraft that was supposed to land in Cardiff on Monday evening.

The search will be coordinated by Sala's mother, Mercedes, and three childhood friends of the footballer, who have also helped the family as spokesmen during their time of need. Sala's mother will also have a meeting with local authorities in order to get an explanation on why they decided to call off the search, since Guernsey Police has not contacted the family to share any updates on this case.

Search and rescue parties have ceased their efforts to find the plane, despite demands from footballers such as Gonzalo Higuaín and Lionel Messi. Earlier today, Argentine president Mauricio Macri asked his chancellor to file in a motion to see French authorities carrying on with the search.

Despite the remote chances of finding Sala and pilot Dave Ibbotson alive, Darío Sala, Emiliano's brother, asked authorities to keep on searching, since he still believes his brother is OK.

"We ask the authorities to carry on with the search. 'Emi' is alive, he's waiting for us. We are to do everything in our power to keep the search going," Sala's brother told ESPN.
