As time went by, it became more difficult to keep our hopes up about Emiliano Sala's whereabouts. Today, the fears of those close to the footballer have been confirmed, as the Guernsey Police department has revealed that the efforts to find the missing plane that carried Sala from Nantes to Cardiff will cease.
The press release shares in detail the efforts made to find Sala or the pilot Dave Ibbotson alive. Yesterday, the Guernsey PD revealed that the main focus of the search had changed on Day 2, since it became a "recovery" operation involving the aircraft or any remains of it.
As of now, Guernsey PD officers believe that the chances of finding Sala or the pilot alive are "extremely remote".
