Juniors Barranquilla wants to secure its qualification for the Round of Sixteen and maintain a perfect scoring as Oriente Petrolero visits Colombia.
The group stage is almost over, and the top American squads will be looking forward to secure their ticket for the knockouts in this fourth round. Junior Barranquila, the Colombian surprise, is the only squad that's managed to keep a perfect scoring in the tournament, leading the second group with nine points after three matches.

Argentinos Juniors claimed a decisive victory last week in Uruguay, claiming the top position of the third group. The Argentinean squad receives Nacional this week in La Paternal. Franco Niell has succesfully lead Bichos Colorados'' attack, building strong offenses along with Nestor Ortigoza.

Reigning champion Internacional visits Bolivia to lock horns with Jorge Wilstermann, while LDU Quito receives Peñarol, eager to recover its place as one of America's greatest.

Universidad San Martin is one step away from securing its ticket to the round of sixteen, with 7 points after three Libertadores games. They have to face group leader Libertad, who stands only one point above their head after a sound victory 5-1 last week in Paraguay.

Germán Alemanno score the opener last week for the Universitarios in the sixth minute of the game, but the Peruvian squad failed to maintain the advantage and were finally sent back home empty-handed by the Gumarelos.

Ronald Quinteros and Heber Arriola will be joining Alemmano in the attack. The visitors should keep the three of them under a close watch to avoid an awkward surprise at the Miguel Grau del Callao.

Libertad's coach Gregorio Perez declared earlier this week "I've come here with grat caution and respect, eager to neutralize a rival with excellent tactical discipline". A draw will give some air for the rest of the contenders of the group, sank at the bottom yet unable to celebrate a single victory.

The future of the group will be called upon this clash, who'll remain at the top by Friday?

Pedro Troglio's Argentinos have not yet been beaten in this Copa Libertadores and will be looking forward to secure their ticket for the knockouts as Nacional visits La Paternal. Argentinos managed to celebrate its first victory in the Argentinean legue this season last weekend and won't hesitate on bagging the full scoring against Nacional.

Argentinos' coach will have to introduce three modifications on his scheme, as Pablo Hernandez and Gustavo Oberman are ruled out due to injuries, while Nicolas Navarro is ready to return to the starting eleven, taking over Luis Ojeda's place between the posts.

Nicolas Berardo and Cristian Sanchez Prette will be given a shot among the starting eleven, and their presence on the wings will most surely be determinant for this clash.

Nacional's coach decided not to give much information about his formation for Tuesday's six pointer. Former Lanus' winger Jackson Viera is almost confirmed in the starting eleven, as well as Santiago García and Richard Porta in the attack.

A vital clash for both squads, who'll claim the three points?

Reigning champion Internacional visits Cochabamba to lock horns with Jorge Wilstermann, who's only known what's like to be defeated in this American tournament. The Brazilian squad needs the three points to secure its place among America's top sixteen, while the Bolivian squad cannot concede any more points if they're meant to advance to the next stage.

Jorge Wilstermann's coach Marcelo Neveleff belives an offensive formation is the only possible one against such an aggressive rival. Jesús Toscanini and Fabio Lima will most likely be leading the attack, while Víctor Hugo Melgar and Luis García Uribe will be responsible for outwitting Internacional in the midfield.

Internacional's coach will have to do without Andrés D’ Alessandro and team's captain Bolivar, but recovers Pablo Guiñazu. Nei and Kléber will be given a shot among the starting squad.

With four points after two games, Internacioal occupies the second position of the group, two points below Jaguares. Will the visitors manage to bag the three points and claim the top of the group for their own?

A victory in Chilean ground can take Colo Colo to the first position of the fifth group. Americo Gallego's boys celebrated their first victory in the Chilean league last weekend, and will be looking forward to take advantage of the momentum generated to render the Brazilian Squad hopeless in Santiago.

Paulo Magalhaes and playmaker Rodrigo Millar are out due to injuries, greatly undermining Colo Colo's attack. José Luis Cabión and José Pedro Fuenzalida will be taking over their places, becoming responsible for feeding Argentinean striker Exequiel Miralles and Esteban Paredes.

Adilson Batista's Santos must secure the three points after two consecutive disappointing draws. Paulo Henrique Ganso returns to the starting squad, while Neymar will be leading the attack.

A decisive clash for the American glory, who'll claim the three points?

Jaguares lock horns with Emelec, eager to maintain the leadership of the sixth group. Emelec occupies the second position along with reigning champion Internacional, and this game will have a major impact on the table standings no matter what happens at the George Capwell.

Things take a radical twist for Jaguares in the Mexican Clausura, occupying the bottom of their group with eight points after 10 games. Team's top striker Antonio Salazar finds himself isolated oftentimes on the attack, unable to lead the attack as he's shown throughout the continent.

Emelec's coach Omar Asad is giving the utmost priority to the Libertadores, as his alternative formation fell last weekend against El Nacional. Emelec must take advantage of the locally, as we must not forget Jaguares claimed the top of the group last weekend, when Emelec visited the Tuxtla Gutiérrez,

David Quiróz, Marcelo Fleitas and Eduardo Morant might be fully fit to lead Jaguares' attack. Jaguares takes a test of fire in Ecuador this Wednesday, will they pass it?

Deportes Tolima chances its arm as Hernan Torres' boys visit the Mineirao on Wednesday's night. Three consecutive defeats (two for the Colombian league and one for the Colombian Cup) have shattered the confidence of the team.

A victory can be the perfect medicine for the Colombian squad, but the Brazilians will be a tough nut to crack. Deportes Tolima have shown many defensive problems in the last few games (eight goals conceded against three scored in the last three games) and much of this has to do with defender Yair Arrechea's injury.

Cruzeiro's coach recovers Wellington Paulista, who'll be joining team's top striker Wallyson. Cruzeiro's massive firepower might overwhelm the visitors from the first minute, as they've shown during the weekend against Democrata, scoring seven goals.

Walter Montillo is likely to return to Cruzeiro's starting eleven, harmonizing the attack of the Brazilian squad. Will they manage to beat Anthony Silva's goal and secure the qualification for the knockouts?

Gremio's coach Renato Gaucho wants to obtain the full scoring as the Brazilian squad visits Peru. Gaucho will have to do without team's top striker Andre Lima, Marcelo Grohe, Adilson and winger Mario Fernandes, all of them ruled out due to injuries.

A victory is mandatory for Gremio to keep up with Junior's pace, who might be only days away from becoming the first qualifier for the knockouts. Gremio defeated Leon Huanuco two weeks ago in Brazil but it'll be a totally different game for Franco Navarro's boys playing at home.

Borges and Carlos Alberto will be leading Gremio's attack. Lucio and Douglas will be responsible for leading the attack from the wings and feeding the strikers with enough goal-scoring opportunities to secure the game.

Leon's alternative squad fell last week against Juan Aurich for the Peruvian league, as this six-pointer will most likely decide their future in the Libertadores. But it'd have been a waste of time without a positive result this Tuesday in Peruvian ground, will they succeed?

Estudiantes receives Guarani this Thursday in great need of a victory to keep up with Cruzeiro's pace in the seventh group of the Libertadores Cup.

Estudiantes fell last weekend against Godoy Cruz, but the defeat could have taught Pincha's coach Eduardo Berizzo an important lesson. He needs to sharpen his attack and secure the possesion of the ball, for what it's expected Hernan Rodrigo Lopez joins Leandro Gonzales in the attack.

Berizzo is having trouble to overcome Gaston Fernandez's and German Re's injuries, but the finesse of Juan Sebastian Veron and Enzo Perez can take Estudiantes to the round of sixteen by itself. "We must first defend, and only then think whether we should attack from the wings or from inside. We have highly experienced players, we know our rival, and we hope we can bag the full scoring" said young winger Raul Iberbia.

Guarani's coach Felix Dario Leon is worried by the performance of the Paraguayan squad, in which they've only known what's like to be defeated without scoring a single goal. A victory can change the perspective completely and keep their hopes alive for the next stage, will they make it?

Peñarol leads the group along with Godoy Cruz, and they must visit Quito on Thursday's night to secure their ticket for the knockouts against one of the deadliest American powerhouses.

Liga's coach Edgardo Bauza is confident that "the rival will be waiting for us, trying to control our play and counter-attack whenever possible". Both squads have given their best players an opportunity to rest during the weekend, for this clash invest the utmost importance.

Hernán Barcos and Walter Calderón will be leading Liga's attack. Néicer Reasco and Ezequiel Gonzalez will be responsible for the creative department.

Peñarol's coach Diego Aguirre will have to do without Fabian Carini, Guillermo Rodríguez and Gerardo Alcoba. Team's captain Antonio Tony Pacheco and striker Jonathan Urretaviscaya are likely to return to the starting eleven, boosting the Uruguayan attack to its maximum.

A decisive game for both sides to fight for the American glory, who'll succeed?

Junior Barranquilla wants to maintain a perfect scoring as Oriente Petrolero visits the Metropolitano Roberto Melendez. The Colombian squad has become the main revelation of the tournament, leaving even Gremio behind in the chase for the top.

Only twice have both teams faced each other, back in 2005 in the Group Stage of the Copa Libertadores, when the Colombian squad secured the two games. Giovanny Hernández and Carlos Bacca will be looking forward to secure Junior's qualification for the next stage.

Ariel Cuffaro Russo's boys, on the other hand, have only known what's like to be defeated in the fight for America's most coveted title. Last week's sound victory 6-0 over Bolivar for the Bolivian league let Oriente Petrolero dream with qualifying to the next stage.

Luis Gutiérrez (sent off two weeks ago) and Juan Carlos Arce are ready to return to the starting eleven. Oriente chances its arm by taking on a flawless rival, who'll claim the three points?
