Los Blancos will be in action this Saturday in La Liga but will not be presented with their title during that trip to Granada.

Real Madrid are gearing up for their crucial UEFA Champions League battle with Bayern Munich, with the Spanish giants hosting the German heavyweights at Santiago Bernabeu this Wednesday as Ancelotti's men look to make the final just a few days after winning La Liga.

However, an eye-catching report regarding the club's La Liga success has emerged. Los Blancos were in action last Saturday, beating Cadiz 2-0, but were understandably not presented with the trophy as they only mathematically won the title race later that same day when Girona beat Barcelona 4-2. As a result, many expected the champions to be crowned in their upcoming top-flight fixture this Saturday.

According to the Athletic, this is not the case. Real Madrid, who travel to Granada this weekend, will not be presented with the title at the end of that fixture and instead will be handed the trophy the following day behind closed doors at their Valdebebas training ground. While this might shock fans, the reasoning behind this move is both understandable and honorable.

As mentioned earlier, Real Madrid will face Granada next weekend. Unfortunately, their opponents are in a relegation battle and will officially go down on Saturday if they fail to beat the Spanish champions. As a result, with relegation all but guaranteed for the hosts, Los Merengues and the RFEF agreed not to stage the award ceremony at Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes out of respect for the hosts and the home fans.

Instead, Ancelotti's men will be handed the title, the club's 36th in history, the following day before celebrating this achievement at the famous Cibeles fountain, as per tradition. The Spanish champions will present the trophy to their home supporters on Tuesday when they host Deportivo Alaves in the league.

Despite this debacle, the focus at Real Madrid will solely be on Wednesday's highly-anticipated showdown with Bayern Munich. A Vincius Jr. brace secured the Spanish giants a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena in the first leg, thus leaving the advantage in Los Blancos' hands.
