The Blaugrana side could be forced to play against Los Blancos with several youth team players due to growing injury issues.

A new edition of El Clásico is in the horizon, but Barcelona have much to worry about before October 29 comes knocking on their door.

The Blaugrana club walked into the international break sitting in third place, and while still unbeaten, the club is three points behind Real Madrid in the title race. Now, coach Xavi Hernández has reasons to worry about, as some of his best players have come down with injuries and their availability for the big game is in serious doubt.

Sunday's match was particularly harsh on the Catalan club, as Lamine Yamal and Jules Koundé suffered injuries that have jeopardized their presence in the game against Real Madrid. Kounde, with a knee issue, and Yamal, struggling with groin complaints, had to miss call ups from their national teams to have their injuries treated.

The main problem for Barcelona is that Koundé has been ruled out for the next five games -which include El Clásico- and Yamal's availability will be determined in coming weeks, which represents a major issue for Xavi Hernández's plans.

These two names have been added to the growing injury list for the Catalan club, a list that up to this date includes Pedri, Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, and Raphinha. If some of these names are not back come October 29, then the Blaugrana side could be in for a hard time against the league leaders.
