Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo hailed Zinedine Zidane's influence in Real Madrid's run for La Undécima.
Speaking to UEFA.com, the Portuguese ace admitted that the team seemed to be going nowhere under Rafa Benitez, and Zidane's influence helped them to win the continental competition.
"We weren't off to a good start last season, but we had a happy ending. Honestly, I believe everything improved once Zidane took over, we won the UCL and I became the tournament's top scorer, and I can assure this has been one of the greatest seasons in my career," Cristiano Ronaldo stated.

The Portuguese striker admitted that winning the 11th UEFA Champions League trophy and the UEFA Euro 2016 may have been crucial to get a nomination for the Best European Player of the Year. CR7 shared his views on what this means for his career.
"It's an honor to be nominated alongside Bale and Griezmann. I've already won three of those trophies, but it would mean the world to me if I can get one more. But if I get to choose, I'd rather win trophies with my team,"he added.
The player is still recovering from a knee injury he picked up during the UEFA Euro 2016 final, but Los Blancos' medical staff could clear him to play the team's next game against Celta Vigo next Saturday.
